About Dave

Who is Dave Buin Removal?

A friendly, hands-on UK mover with a real name behind the van. Dave does man-and-van jobs, house and small moves, careful packing and secure storage, small offices too, and European removals — and you deal with him, not a call centre or a job passed to a stranger.

Where does Dave cover?

The everyday local move, the longer move across the country, and the international move into Europe. Dave does the ordinary things carefully wherever the move takes him, rather than claiming to be based on every street.

Do I really get to deal with Dave?

That is the whole point. The person who quotes your move is the person who does it — one voice, from the first call to the last box carried in. It is a name behind the van, not a faceless firm.

Is Dave insured?

Yes. Every move is covered by comprehensive insurance appropriate to the job, explained plainly before you commit — no page of small print to wade through, just clear peace of mind.

Do you charge for a quote?

No — quotes come without obligation. For a smaller job Dave doesn’t need a drawn-out survey; a few details and a photo or two of the bigger items are usually enough for a clear, honest price.

Services & quotes

The moves, and getting a price

What can Dave move with a man and van?

A studio or one-bed flat, a few rooms of furniture, a single sofa, bed or fridge, a collection or delivery, or a student move. If it fits a van and a couple of pairs of hands, it is a man-and-van job rather than a full removals lorry.

Do you move whole houses too?

Yes — a first flat, a family house, or somewhere in between. For a full house Dave brings the right van and an extra pair of hands, so it is planned and crewed for the size of the move, with the same personal care.

Will Dave move just one item?

Absolutely — a single sofa, a bed, a fridge, a wardrobe, or a few boxes. It is the job most big firms won’t take on its own, and it is exactly the sort of thing Dave is happy to do, priced for the one item.

Does Dave help load, or just drive?

Dave helps — carrying, wrapping, loading and unloading, up the stairs and round the corners. This is a proper man-and-van service, not van hire. If a job clearly needs two people, he’ll say so before the day.

Will you take furniture apart and rebuild it?

Yes. Beds, wardrobes, flat-pack and anything that won’t go through a doorway or up a stair whole are dismantled, moved and rebuilt at the new home. It is part of the service, not an extra.

How does Dave quote a move?

By talking it through — a call, or the details and a photo through the form — so he can see what’s coming and the access. Then a clear, honest price and what it covers. No figure guessed on the phone to reel you in.

Packing, storage & Europe

Packing, storage & moving abroad

Do you do the packing, or just the move?

Either. Dave can pack the whole home for you — fragile items, furniture, the loft and the garage — with a labelled inventory, or just the breakables while you handle the rest. It folds into the same booking as the move.

Can you store our things between homes?

Yes. If there’s a gap between moving out and moving in, or you just need things out of the way, Dave holds them in clean, dry, secure storage on a full inventory and brings them back when you’re ready — short or long term.

Do you handle awkward things — heavy furniture, lofts, garages?

Dave does. Heavy and awkward furniture, and the contents of lofts and garages, are handled by someone used to them — protected, secured and carried properly. Tell Dave what needs particular care and he’ll plan for it.

Which European countries does Dave move to?

Dave runs regular removals to France, Spain, Italy and Portugal, each with its own page setting out the route and the paperwork. Other European countries are arranged on request.

Does Dave handle the customs paperwork for a move abroad?

Yes. Since Brexit an EU move needs a customs declaration and a detailed inventory, and used household effects can usually come in under transfer-of-residence relief when you are moving your main home. Dave prepares the declarations and transit documents and tells you exactly what to provide.

Does Dave do business moves too?

Yes, as a secondary service — small offices, shops and studios moved with the same care as a home, around your hours, with the kit and files handled and labelled. The man-and-van and house work leads, but Dave is glad to help with a small business move.

How soon should I get in touch?

As early as you can, especially for busy periods and month-ends — it gives Dave the best chance of a slot that suits you, and it lets a bigger move be planned properly. That said, he’ll always do his best at shorter notice.
